Raise-a-Moo-Moo-Cow Project

Raise-a-Piggy Project by Tigerland Rice FarmThis is our 2nd Recyclable Social Investment project conceived in July 2016 by Alvin and Kitt during the filming of the Raise-a-Piggy project by OurBetterWorld.org.

The idea goes like this: we invite social investor to sponsor a Mama Cow at S$600. Mama Cow will be loaned to a selected hilltribe family with school-going children. The selected family will sign a “social” contract to raise Mama Cow with love and care. As all these families are farmers with land, raising Mama Cow is easy and cost little. Meanwhile they can milk the cow to provide their children with much needed nutrients or even sell the milk to provide some useful side-income. Mama Cow will bear calf once a year. The family will get to keep the 2nd calf for themselves and return Mama Cow and her first calf to the TigerlandRiceFarm in about 1.5-2 years time.

From one family, we'll now be able to support 2 families. From 2 families to 4 families, 4 to 8, 8 to 16... This way, not only our initial social investment will be recycled, it will also multiply over time to help more and more families. Meanwhile, the family who owns the calf can use it to generate various income sources to support their children’s education.

Thanks to Ho Ee Kid who raised S$1800 through his Luv Adventure in Oct 2016, we kick started this new experiment with 3 cows supporting 3 families at the start of 2017:

Family 1: Churak Surikamdang
Family 2: Danupong Chermer

Family 3: Praphop Chermer
